Every Journey Has Someone Waiting
Every day across Uganda, people set off on important journeys. A child rides to school carrying dreams for the future. A mother travels to a health centre hoping for care and comfort. A farmer heads to the field before sunrise. A rider begins the day determined to earn a living and support a family. Their destinations may be different, but they all share one hope: to arrive safely and return home.
Uganda’s Road Safety Reality
Road accidents continue to affect thousands of families every year. According to the Uganda Police Annual Traffic Report 2025, the country recorded 26,044 road crashes, compared to 25,107 crashes in 2024, representing an increase of 3.7%. Of these crashes, 4,602 were fatal, 13,563 were serious, and 7,879 were minor.
Behind every statistic is a person, a family, and a story that changed forever. Road safety is not just a transport issue. It is a family issue, a community issue, and a national concern.
The Goal Is Not Speed. The Goal Is Safe Arrival.
Many people focus on reaching their destination quickly, but the true goal of every journey is arriving safely. The road is not a race, and a few minutes saved through risky riding are never worth the cost of an accident. It is better to arrive late than not arrive at all.
Someone Is Waiting for You
A child waiting at home does not care how fast you rode. Your family is not impressed by risky overtaking or speeding. The people who love you care about one thing: that you come home safely. Before every journey, remember that someone is counting on your safe return.
A Little Humour, A Serious Message
A helmet may flatten your hairstyle, but a head injury can ruin much more. The message on your phone can wait, but the road cannot. Arriving two minutes earlier is nice, but arriving alive is better. The safest rider is not the fastest rider; the safest rider is the one who keeps coming home.
Why We Created “Come Home Safe”
At Bodo Bikes, we believe that every life matters. That belief inspired us to create “Come Home Safe,” a song that reminds us all to ride responsibly and make safety a daily habit.
The message is simple: slow down when needed, think ahead, respect the road, protect yourself, protect others, and come home safe.
Join the Movement
Road safety starts with small decisions that make a big difference. Choose patience over rushing. Choose responsibility over risk. Choose safety every time you ride.
Listen to the song and share it with family, friends, colleagues, and fellow riders. Together, we can help make Uganda’s roads safer for everyone.
